HISTORIA DEL INTERNET Durante la Guerra Fría, más precisamente en 1969, el pentágono (Departamento de defensa de Estados Unidos) junto con una empresa llamada ARPA (Advanced Research and Projects Agency) inició un proyecto que permitiera conectar bases militares y departamentos de investigación del gobierno americano. Esta red de comunicación fue llamada de ARPANET . ARPANET fue totalmente financiada por el gobierno norteamericano con el objetivo de ser una red de comunicación inmune a cualquier ataque ruso. A partir de 1970 algunas universidades e incluso instituciones estaban conectadas al departamento de defensa ya que recibieron permiso para que se conectaran a la red. Los primeros proveedores de acceso, surgieron en 1980, permitiendo que empresas y ciudadanos pudieran visitar la red a través de dial-ups.
